Disco Diva, Black Swan, Gypsy Queen, and Vintage Sea, are some of the names of the unique Lady Fozaza blazer creations by the inspirational Alanoud Badr, a Saudi Lebanese fashion designer, blogger and consultant.
It all began with FashionGossip10, a fashion blog which was Alanoud’s stepping stone into the intriguing world of Lady Fozaza. Working mostly behind the scenes, Alanoud would position upcoming and aspiring designers at the forefront, promoting and marketing their designs and applauding their efforts. Shortly thereafter, she decided to step into the spotlight and design her own unique brand.
By building a successful clothing line, Alanoud gained recognition for her exceptional sense of style and the Lady Fozaza collection became the talk of the town. All that was evident with the must-have blazers selling out within the first seven minutes of the Lady Fozaza collection launch at Cream boutique in Jeddah. Alanoud’s creative edge is well exhibited in her statement-making blazers, with shoulder pads, feathers, spikes, crystals, animal prints, and an array of colorful fabrics. They are a reflection of women who exude an aura of confidence, with an alluring mixture of femininity and rebellion. With her fashionable journey to style and success, Alanoud Badr gives Oasis Magazine an in-depth look at the woman behind Lady Fozaza.

How did your career in fashion begin?
Marketing and Public relations are my first love so I first launched an online boutique called Fozaza.com. It was the first online fashion boutique in the Middle East, focused on promoting upcoming designers.
When did you decide to start your own fashion line?
I started a fashion blog, it was one the first four fashion blogs that came out in the Middle East and it went crazy from there. Everyone started using it as yellow pages for designers. As for my fashion line, it all started when people would always compliment what I wore and would ask me where I bought my outfits from. That really built my confidence. I decided that I wanted to do something on my own and for myself and finally, in July 2011, I launched my first Lady Fozaza Blazer collection.
What does Lady Fozaza mean?
Fozaza is a nickname I used to call my aunt Fozia, who passed away six years ago. She would take me fabric shopping and taught me everything, like how to see and feel the fabric. She would tell me to always follow my dreams because life is short and that I should just go for it and I shouldn’t wait, and whatever you do to always remain a lady. And so the name Lady Fozaza was created.
Who is Lady Fozaza designed for?
I design for women who know exactly who they are and exactly where they are going. This line is for women who stand tall, are powerful, and comfortable in their skin, similar to some of the celebrities who have worn my blazers: Evan Rachel Woods, and Kim and Kourtney Kardashian. I’m also targeting Rihanna, BeyoncĂ© and Jennifer Lopez.
If your blazers could talk they would say…?
I think they would sing Beyonce’s “Who Run the World” song.
