Emirati Cook Shaikha Al Ali, blogging as When Ninjas Cook, has had us hooked on her delicious recipes for a while now :) One of our favorite recipes from Sheikha is her simple and delicious Legeimat recipe (with the beautiful video above). She describes this recipe as:
اللقيمات حلوى إماراتية مشهورة و محبوبة جدا في الامارات، يتم صنعها كثيرا و بالذات في شهر رمضان الكريم"

"A simple Video I made about a famous dessert in the UAE called “Legeimat” pronounced Legeymaat. Its basically pieces of fried dough drizzled with Date Syrup. Possibly the Arab Version of Doughnuts! When made, you’ll see how irresistible it is to the youngsters and even the adults. Its a very traditional dessert that showcases the culture of desserts here in the UAE. The titles in the Video are Arabic though, but you can still watch! :)"
