Kamelia Kamel, graduated in 2008 from University College of London with a degree in Italian and Management B.A. She inherited and now manages Tifa Boutique, a modish hub founded in 1993 by her mother, the late Latifa Kamel. Latifa, whom family and friends affectionately called 'Tifa', epitomised the 20th century lady. She managed to look her best and emanate an effortless grace while dealing with everyday life. This motto is at the forefront of every piece of clothing on the racks of Tifa.
The Legacy Continues with Kamelia who decided, in 2008, to advance Tifa's vision and take it to the 21st century. She first relocated from Chamelle Plaza to Ana Special Mall in Jeddah, then revamped the aesthetic of Tifa Boutique and reopened the shop in 2009. Since then, she has managed to continuously introduce a more adventurous strand of labels from local designers, to European, and American designers with a curatorial eye that has kept with the standards of Middle Eastern styles and values.
"The aim of each season at Tifa is to build upon a wardrobe that the Tifa girl already has. It’s not about throwaway pieces. It’s about pieces that you invest in and keep for a long time," says Kamelia. She continues by stating that she has "pride in following up on an enterprise that is almost 20 years old. It's the warmth and constant old world service, and the unyielding faith of the staff who have been working with Tifa since its doors first opened, that sets Tifa Boutique apart."
The website and online store are launching very soon, a very exciting enterprise that will introduce Tifa regionally and internationally. Tifa is also introducing and fine tuning a 'corner store' inside the shop called Mademoiselle Tifa 'MT', dedicated to their younger clientele with brands at more economic prices.
