The UK flag, or Union Jack, was redesigned by famed British artist Damien Hirst for the largest party ever held in London, the Olympics closing ceremony!
What took to the stage last night was a pure celebration of all the most beloved British icons. A scaled-down model of London made entirely of newspapers took centre-stage, the Spire Girls made a comeback, as did The Who, David Bowie and Pink Floyd. Other great bands also performed on the Damien Hirst stage including: Emeli Sande, Madness, Pet Shop Boys, Ray Davies, George Michael, Jessie J and Annie Lennox Kaiser Chiefs and Ed Sheeran. Athletes filled the stage and watched as British supermodels Naomi Campbell & Kate Moss walked the catwalk in Alexander McQueen.
