THE FIRST DESIGN STORE IN SHARJAH FEATURING SOLELY GULF PRODUCED DESIGNS

On Saturday February 13th, 1971- Design Space launched the 1971- Design Store. Located in Souq Al Shanasiya, within the Heart of Sharjah, it is the first design store in Sharjah featuring solely Gulf produced designs. 

The 1971 – Design Store provides the community with the opportunity to experience and acquire design objects by local and regional designers. Showcasing the depth of the growing design sector in the UAE and the GCC, the store aims to highlight the various areas of design and emerging talents through commissioned works, as well as jewellery, product designs, fashion and textiles, furniture and prints which depict inspiration and connections with the region.

“We are pleased to announce the opening of the 1971 – Design Store and pay homage to the designers and burgeoning design platform here in the UAE,” said Giuseppe Moscatello, Director of Maraya Art Centre and 1971-Design Space.  “Through the launch of this store, we are delighted to provide accessibility to the world of design and its many elements, and especially those conceived and produced in the Gulf, through this venue.”
