Traffic, Emirates Foundation and the California College of the Arts invites you to a screening of the film, “The Great Contemporary Art Bubble.” In this inside eye-witness journey into the art world, art critic and film-maker Ben Lewis visits auction houses, art fairs, galleries and the homes of billionaires across the world, searching for the reasons behind the greatest rise in financial value of art in history. He interviews leading dealers, art collectors and art market analysts and discovers an extraordinary world of unusual market practices, speculation, secrecy and a passionate enthusiasm for art.
The Emirates Foundation for Philanthropy is currently running its third professional development course for art and museum professionals. The course – ‘Foundations of Curatorial Practice’ is offered by the Foundation’s Arts & Culture Program in collaboration with the renowned California College of the Arts (CCA). The course started online on January 17, 2012 and will run through April 30, 2012. It includes a week-long on-site workshop that will take place in Dubai between March 11-15 at Traffic in Al Quoz and a two day seminar at Manarat Saadiyat. Through readings, online discussions and assignments, the course introduces participants to curatorial theories and practices. The course is restricted to registered participants.
