Saudi Goes Green > Exhibition > CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS @LArtPur


To commemorate ‘Earth Day’ on the 22nd of April 2012, L’ Art Pur Gallery will hold an exhibition in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia under the theme, "Saudi Arabia Goes Green", * Recycling * Renewable / Sustainable Energy * Carbon Footprint *, How Saudi Arabia can make the differnce now!

 

The selected submissions will be displayed held for ‘free’ in Riyadh at L’ Art Pur Gallery from April 21st until May 3rd, 2012 as per of the second annual photo exhibition. Entrants have until 25th March 2012 to submit their work.  

This exhibition will initially take place in Riyadh, and with prospective dates in Jeddah, Al Khobar and other cities of the Kingdom.

The aim of the exhibition is to show how Saudi photographers and videographers think about a greener Saudi Arabia. What their eco-environment means to them and express their creativity through the medium of photography and videography.

Who may participate:

This exhibition is open to all Saudi Nationals, Male or Female, Amateur or Professional Photographers and Videographers. Entrees should be at least 18 years old. Saudi nationals under 18 are permitted to enter providing they have parental consent. ASI staff, L’ Art Pur Gallery Staff and anyone directly associated with ASI, L’ Art Pur Gallery, Saudi Goes Green Photo Exhibition are not allowed to participate.

How to participate:

Please submit your photographs and videos on-line through our web site at www.lartpur.com/index.php/events.html  

To enter the competition you need to register as a new user on L' Art Pur Gallery website lartpur.com and confirm your email. Then logon to lartpur.com and the upload section will be available on the events page/menu to upload your files.

We do not accept photographs and videos submitted through the mail. 

What to Submit:

Only upload 3 photographs and/or 1 video and 1 Bio Document (Bio should include Name, Contact Information, Nationality, A brief history of you, Your Current Role/ Position, What you think about Saudi Arabia Going Green?, Description of your submissions and what they mean to you)

For photographs only upload the following file types,(Tiff is recommended, only upload files smaller than 60MB): jpg, jpeg, gif, png, tif, tiff, nef, pdf, ai, psd, eps, 

For Videos only upload the following file types,(AVI is recommended, only upload files smaller than 60MB): mov, avi, divx, mp3, mp4
For Bio only upload the following file types: doc, rtf, txt,

Photographs

No more than 3 photographs may be submitted. (Submitters can also post 1 video)

Submissions may be in Colour or Black & White or both.

Photos must be submitted in a digital file format and the resolution should be big enough to be enlarged at a size of 40 x 50 cm.

We suggest that digital photographs should be taken at the highest resolution possible.

We suggest to send us TIFF format file at 320 DPI between 20 and 40 megabytes or bigger. Please avoid using JPEG format.

Adobe RGB or Prophoto colour spaces are most preferable. Please try to avoid using SRGB and JPEG format. If more details are needed, you are most welcome to email us.

For non digital photographers, they are welcome to send us low resolution files of their work but they will be asked to submit a high-resolution file or an original negative, slide or transparency once their photograph is accepted.

Original negatives, slides or transparency will be returned to finalists after printing.

L’ Art Pur Gallery reserves the right to disqualify photographers who are unable to submit, upon request, a high-resolution file, an original negative or slide/transparency.

Cropped, retouched, or digitally altered or manipulated images are acceptable as long as they’ll help the photographer enhance artistic values of his/her work.

For a photo in which a person is recognizable, you must secure a model release form, from the subject or, in the case of a minor, the subject’s parent or guardian and provide it to L’ Art Pur Gallery upon request. A sample release is available from L’ Art Pur Gallery upon request.

Photographs that are going to be published in magazines and newspapers prior to the exhibition are not eligible. Our panel of judges will define which photographs can be exhibited. Photos that violate the kingdom’s laws and regulations, photos with nudity, lewd, vulgar or offensive behaviour, language or gestures will not be tolerated. Also those that infringe upon another person’s rights, including but not limited to copyright, are not eligible and will be disqualified automatically.

Videos:

 No more than 1 video may be submitted. (Submitters can also post 3 photographs)Videos can be narrative, time lapse photography or videography, experimental, documentary, animation, music video, etc. With or without sound are welcome.

Videographers may use any camera as long as it delivers high quality content or broadcast quality.
Videos should preferably be shot in Pal or HD format. If a videographer is using NTSC system he/she should convert it prior to sending it. Videos should not exceed 5 min in length.

Videos that are going to be shown in the media or online prior to the exhibition are not eligible. Our Judges will define which videos can be showcased.

As for photographs, videos also should pay respect to the Kingdom’s regulations as cited above.

 

Entry deadline:

All entries must be received through the L’ Art Pur Gallery web site by midnight KSA time on March 25th, 2012.
