J+A Gallery is proud to present, for the first time in Dubai, a selection of rare industrial and mid-centurydesign objects and salvaged goods from Germany and Central Europe.The exposed objects they exhibit are all exclusive and rare. Every item tells its own story regarding design, journey and history.
The stylishly arranged and opulently illuminated warehouse is located in Al Quoz Industrial 1, Road 4a right next to countless exquisite galleries. The selection of the gallery is wide. Their collection includes lighting objects, chairs, tables, sideboards and decorative objects. The antiques are eye-catchers for every private home, restaurant, exclusive shop and also inspiring for the work of interior designers.
Furthermore, the permanent show will be accompanied by lectures on the history of design and art of the 20th century, interesting movies as well as temporary exhibitions with artists from their among art-loverswell known city of Leipzig. The first decades of the 20th century mark the beginning of modern design and functionality. The Bauhaus school of art and crafts, among others, has been most influential.
Objects of this era are witnesses to history and are increasingly difficult to acquire. Some of those rare items can be collected now in the United Arab Emirates.The objects on display have a unique and continuously rising value and are part of the exiting history ofmodern design. J+A Gallery is the first gallery in this region where industrial antiques from Germany canbe acquired. Sebastian Jaroslawski, who is the director and one of the owners of the gallery speaks Arabic and has already lived in the UAE for several years. His hometown Leipzig is one of the hot spots in Europe for contemporary art and with its rich architectural heritage of the Art Nouveau, Bauhaus and Art Decomovements a magnet for designers and art lovers.
