Emerging #Saudi Artists @LamArtGallery > #AbuDhabi Art (till Nov 10)

On its 3rd annual participation in Abu Dhabi Art Fair, Riyadh based Lam ArtGallery is pleased to express its satisfaction of the event and the organizersbehind it. Every year, AD Art Fair presents itself in a unique way; the gallery islooking forward to 2012.This year the gallery is presenting 3 artists: Bassem Al Sharqi, Tala Al Zeid and Marwah Al Mugait.

Bassem Al Sharqi, one of the pioneers of Saudi pop art, has been part of LamArt since its launch in 2010. Al Sharqi has taken into consideration the spiritof graphic and printing structure despite the fact that the works are similarin colour and technically approaches the lithograph by abbreviating the line, number, word, mark and converting all of that into a functional visual relation inthe re-production of the familiar and known homogeneous and adjacent shapes. He complements his silkscreen technique with vibrant colours giving his pieces a vivid and captivating appearance.

Having comic book heroes, classical cartoon characters, and 80's graffitiletterings as his prime inspiration, Talal Al Zeid managed to portray thisimpact into his works through assorted bold techniques. Al Zeid’s works appearstrikingly powerful and lively allowing his portraits to command immediate attention.

The new addition this year is Saudi photographer Marwa Al Mugait, wellknown for her fashion photography Al Mugait began excelling in photography in 2005. Colours, shades and light were always a major attraction to her eyes. Her tendency towards capturing moments provoked a combination of buildingan aesthetic point of view and executing a professional production. Al Mugaitfinished her master’s degree in photojournalism and succeeded to win the Metroimaging one-year mentorship for her project The Mood Diary. Presenting herfirst ever series “Avant Garde Arabia” at this year’s fair, the gallery has highexpectations of appreciation for her works.
