Create & Inspire is a regional search to find the most talented young artists, photographers and filmmakers living in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. 

Competition Theme: Re-imagining your community

Open to: nationals and residents aged 16 to 25

DEADLINE: 31st MAY 2013 

Enhancing communities through art has become an increasingly talked about topic in the Gulf. The speed and scale of urban development and the dominating presence of public advertising has created a local environment often lacking in inspiration and creativity. 

Against this backdrop, the competition challenges you to re-imagine your community through:

• An artwork (for example, street art, public sculpture, performance or painting)
• A film (for example, a documentary, short film or animation)
• A photograph (or series of photographs)

This could be a work you have already made, or you can create a new work specifically for this competition. Above all it must fit the theme and be YOUR IDEA, inspired by your own research and imagination.

Entrants with the most original and imaginative applications will be asked for interview in June and winners will be announced in early July.
