2. Razan AlAzzouni New Collection | Website | Twitter | Facebook

Read our interview with Razan (published in Oasis Magazine's Winter 2012 issue). An Excerpt from the interview...

Razan Alazzouni’s self-titled line has been on the fashion scene for a short period of time and yet has already been making waves in Hollywood! The line, which is architected by Saudi designer Razan Alazzouni, has been spotted on celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Emma Roberts, Ashley Tisdale, Giuliana Rancic, Anna Sophia Robb and Kelly Osbourne to name a few. Alazzouni’s infatuation with fashion rose early on and her background and training in the art world has guided her to create a line that exudes creativity and sculpted uniqueness. Inspired by women and their natural poses, Alazzouni’s seasonal line can be described as delicate, feminine and elegant with an undoubtful sense of playfulness.

Oasis Magazine caught up with the Saudi designer to get the exclusive scoop.
How do you define your brand? My brand is feminine whimsical and fun. Through my designs I portray what a young, powerful, and fun woman would wear and want to be seen as. What is style? Style is anything and everything that expresses your feelings, emotions and personality. It is the window to a person’s soul, thoughts, and way of life.
What does culture mean to you? Culture to me is everything. I come from a very cultural part of the world, where culture is not only who you are but also governs your way of life. The most important thing in life is staying true to your roots and embracing your culture. Realizing how culture through time and in history is forever evolving. I think this is a notion that the young generation knows and loves. Culture is who we are.
What references have you drawn to in your previous lines? The usual references that influenced my previous collections are elements that are around us. I am always inspired by light and texture and love how they are tools that can depict different things when you use them to influence the viewer.

 3. NOSH by Noura AlSheikh Website | Twitter | Facebook

NOSH, THE RIYADH-BASED LABEL FOUNDED BY NOURA AL-SHAIKH, DÉBUTED AT D’NA THIS JANUARY.  The luxury boutique and one of our favorites in Riyadh interviewed Noura Al-Shaikh. Read an excerpt below & the full interview at D'NA...

"Did growing up in Saudi Arabia influence you as a designer?  From an early age I was attracted to different fabrics, colors and textures, especially in Saudi Arabia which is an incredibly diverse country with a long history of embroidery and weaving. Each region has its own distinct costumes and embellishments. Luckily the London-based Mansoojat Foundation is preserving many of these costumes for the world to see. Although I’m engaged with what’s going on in the world around me, as a Saudi designer, I also gain inspiration from the past and try to infuse those references into my own design process in a non-literal way."

What's the icing on the cake? Your friends will fall in love with your Loomer jewelry!"
