As the exclusive agent for Design Road in KSA, Tashkeil will be hosting a series of design workshops, seminars and exhibitions on May 4th, 2013 till 7th in The Creative Space, opening in Shatea District specifically for the event and exhibition launch. The Opening Ceremony will be held on May 4th at 5:30pm and will feature a seminar where attendees will be introduced to the visiting designers and then followed by a networking session. The following days from the 5th till the 7th,workshops will host participants in the following Fashion related topics, Retail Design, Window Design, Fashion Branding, Fashion Exhibition and Cool Hunting. The event will end with a Closing Ceremony on the 7th of May at 5:30pm, which will feature a panel discussion about major trends and important topics in the local fashion industry. Some of the local talks are Partnership with the Fashion Industry by Princess Baza Al-Saud and Rana Ismail of Libra Boutique, Changing Trends in the Fashion Industry by Christophe Beaufyas of Lomar, Media and the Fashion Industry by Kholoud Attar of Design Magazine and Accesorizing our Homes & Maintaining our Culture by the Silsal Enterprise of Jordan.

The aim of the initiative is to encourage intercultural dialogue and creative exchange between local and international designers developed by the Creative Dialogue Association (CDA), a private independent non-profit organization based in Barcelona, Spain. Only a few years old, Design Road has established a prestigious reputation in the region, having been featured in Damascus, Amman, Manama, Doha and Dubai, where international designers and artists shared their knowledge anddesign ideas with local professionals to provide capacity building and educational programs and is supported by regional partner, the British Council. In the firstedition, Design Road: Jeddah Style, will be led by a team of professors andinternational design professionals from renowned European Design Schools, including Kingston University in London, England and Elisava Design School in Barcelona, Spain. Local design professionals will be participating in workshops and talks aimed at harnessing local constraints, exposing them to the latest trends,expertise, methods and styles in the fields chosen specifically to suit their needs anddesign work necessities. “It is our belief at Tashkeil that in order to fully engagedesigners as productive economic forces capable of creating sustainable socialchange, we must first open minds and opportunities for Saudi Creative talents”, said Sofana Dahlan, CEO and Founder and Tashkeil. “Under our Fat’ha division, we are dedicated to supporting capacity building education & creative thinking”.
