Capture the Spirit of #Ramadan > An International Photography Competition That's Bridging Cultures & Inspiring Creativity

The “Capture the Spirit of Ramadan” International Photography Competition™ (IRPC) is a unique and unprecedented 30-day visual celebration of the holy month that aims to educate and enlighten thousands of viewers around the world through the art of photography.Photos are shared every day during the holy month and are kept available for viewing in our online gallery unlike many notable world-class photography competitions that call for submissions, receive several thousand photos, and then only share a small number of shortlisted and winning photos with the public.

Photographers over the age of 18 are encouraged to photograph all things Ramadan: people in prayer, holy places, mosques, iftar and suhoor foods, family gatherings, and even inspiring natural beauty and landscapes taken during the month of Ramadan. These photos must fall into one of the three submission categories: Architecture, Spirituality and Culture. 

The top 100 photos entered into the competition (as chosen by the competition committee) will be judged by a jury panel of international artists & photography experts. Photos are judged on the following criteria: Impact and Message, Creativity, Photographic Quality, Technical Expertise.

Prizes 

The First Place winner for each category will be awarded U.S. $1,500.

The Second Place winner for each category will be awarded U.S. $1,000.

The Third Place winner for each category will be awarded U.S. $500.

There will be three (3) Viewers’ Choice winners as well as two (2) honorable mentions (although no prizes will be awarded to the latter). The Viewer’s Choice winners will be chosen by IRPC fans on the Facebook page, www.facebook.com/RamadanPhotography, those with the most “Likes” will each be awarded US $200. The honorable mentions will be chosen for demonstrating a high caliber of quality and creativity. All winners will have their winning photograph (and name) published on the competition website,www.capturethespiritoframadan.org as well as in affiliated media. Winners of the competition will be chosen within one month of the close of the competition and will be notified email as well as a public announcement on the website and social media platforms. Decisions of the judges are final and binding.
