Oasis Magazine Goes to Maldives > Cocoa Island (the most zen & healthy island)

If you ever dreamt of being stranded on an island, this is the resort for you! Cocoa island is the smallest island in the Maldives and it's also the most zen. All rooms at Cocoa Island are ocean bungalows in the shape of boats! You'll find no buggies to drive you around here and no motorized water sports. This is a resort based on shambhala. What is shambala? It is the view that every human being has a fundamental nature of goodness, warmth and intelligence. This nature can be cultivated through meditation, following ancient principles, and it can be further developed in your daily life routines.

The speedboat ride from the airport took about 40 minutes and when we arrived we were welcomed to Cocoa Island with fresh coconut drinks. Cocoa Island is strikingly calm and zen. You'll only hear the humming of the yoga instructor as you pass by the yoga pavilion.

The food on Cocoa Island is exquisite. Every single dish we tasted was absolutely delicious. We even ventured onto the extra healthy Shambhala menu and were delightfully surprised to find the dishes delicious as well.
