A cold and refreshing 'Marhaba' ginger drink was waiting for us at Huvafen Fushi when we arrived (only after 30 minutes by speedboat from Male International Airport). Marhaba in Maldivian (like in Arabic) means welcome and so we were welcomed to Huvafen Fushi or 'Dream Island'. The island feels luxurious and cozy all at ounce. Huvafen Fushi is the sister resort of Niyama (the resort we visited and covered in our previous post) but it differs quite a lot in its atmosphere that feels more private and more intimate.
The first activity we ventured onto, and were really excited about, is one of the unique activities exclusive at Huvafen Fushi, Stingray feeding! We met our delightful host and the marine biologist who told us about these stingrays who have been coming every day, at the same time, to the shores of Huvafen Fushi for over 9 years!
Another unique feature at Huvafen Fushi is its underwater spa! This is the first underwater spa in the Maldives. A relaxing day at the spa is even made more relaxing as you watch the fish pass by...

There are 2 huge ocean bungalows situated miles away from the standard ocean bungalows offering even more privacy > Gordon Ramsey and Kate Moss were amongst the guests that chose these bungalows...And speaking of famous chef Gordon Ramsey, he was quoted as saying that Huvafen Fushi's restaurants are some of the best in the world and we definitely agree!
